Bas Kosters Zeeman Collection Launch

IMG_6811

Last night was ‘Bas for Zeeman’ collection launch!

The party was one of the cutest and fun collection launch I have ever been to so far! Hosted in this huge warehouse in Amsterdam-Noord, the place was very spacious and a little bit grungy. In the middle of the hall was a huge white mattress with bean bags and pillows around. On top of the mattress were TV, more pillows, bed, stuffed dolls, and a swing! It was like a huge playground for kids…or childish adults! The opening show was a big slumber party that turned into a huge pillow fight! Afterwards, the night went on with some dancing and music spinning by DJ Wannabeastar and Bas himself with his DJ partner: Shirley!

The collection is inspired by the 70′s and sailor’s tattoo. It consists of pajamas, night shirts, knickers and hipsters with cute and colorful prints that Bas exclusively designed for Zeeman. This limited underwear/pajama collection is available in the Benelux, Germany and France starting from the 19th September 2011.

Bas Kosters is famous for being the Anti- Fashion icon. Although Zeeman is usually considered to be the least fashionable brand ever, it fits Bas’ ‘anti-fashion’ philosophy, since it shows that design doesn’t always have to come with a high price tag. Most importantly, “it is not about what you wear but how you wear it!” states Bas himself. The accessibility of his clothes and communicating his message to the public is very important for Bas and he is very glad that by designing for Zeeman, he can reach a broader (international) public.
